Place women at the heart of development

The association is composed mainly of intellectual women: doctors, engineers, nurses, graduates and also seamstresses and so on. It intervenes in several fields of intervention such as: Education, Agriculture and Livestock, Health, Culture and Art, Mixed Trades, Construction, Spiritual and Environment. It works and carries out its activities in partnership with local rural associations in support projects, technical support for income-generating activities (self-management).

ATUA association also contributes to the consolidation of urban centers, sustainable human and environmental development, economic growth and the fight against unemployment through green jobs.

  • Sensitization on the rational management of waste;

  • Making soap by and for women and mother-daughter;

  • Training of widows and daughters-mother in cutting and sewing; 

  • Training of women widows and daughters mother: sewing, making soaps, making fabrics;

  • Technical supervision of rice farmers and breeders;

  • Sensitization on the rational management of waste: collection of refuse in the urban communes of Bujumbura;

  • Medical and school care for orphaned families and children;

  • Computer training and co-management with local associations and cooperatives;

  • Supervision of women traders in cooperatives.

 

The association ATUA emphasizes the participatory and integrated approach of the basic community structures with associations involved in the collection, defense of human rights, the cooperatives of women traders, farmers and breeders.


The Association "Tujenge Umoja Afrika" (ATUA) acronym is approved by the Ministerial Order No. 530/503 of 12/4 /, 2016. More information here in french

The headquarters in the MUKAZA commune, ROHERO 1 Zone, ASIATIQUE district , BUJUMBURA town,  BURUNDI, in front of the gallery WEGE HOUSE


ATUA projects and programs are designed, formulated and developed by a Technical Committee. Prior to their execution, the Committee submit to the General Assembly for approval. Specific actions of this association are analyzed and validated in the Steering Committee.


Note that ATUA emphasizes participatory and integrated approach to community-based structures, associations involved in the collection and transportation of waste to dumping sites and managers of waste transit sites.
